One Piece: The Three Admirals by Neodusk One Piece: The Three Admirals by Neodusk
So, uh, instead of doing something which would probably been a better use of my drawing time, I drew this. I guess it's still practice for copying Oda's art style.

If you're not familiar, these are the three marine admirals of One Piece. From left to right they're Borsalino (Kizaru), Kuzan (Aokiji) and Sakazuki (Akainu). They hold the powers of the Pikapika no mi, Hiehie no mi, and Magumagu no mi, respectively.

Borsalino's my favorite admiral and Kuzan's my least favorite, and yet I placed Borsalino way in the back with Kuzan out front. Go figrue.

I didn't trace these or anything (is this good enough to even necessitate such a disclaimer?), but I used specific panels from One Piece as references, with some alterations made to make them suit the picture better.

The colorizing was a last-minute decision to keep them distinguished. All these guys belong to Eiichiro Oda.

Please comment and enjoy. :P

But now Kuzan's gone, and we got Fujitora. XP Naw, but he'll never match Kuzan's badassness. ;3

JUst wanting to note out that the new Admiral Fujitora is too overpowered when you look at the two others... Well Kizaru is kind'a neat too but hey "I can throw asteroids at you at the same time as I eat rammen!" "I can shoot lazers out of my legs and move as fast as light!" "I'm magma :3 "

Looks already awesome as it is, if I say so myself. Then again, I'm no artist, and this is YOUR work, so.. Whatever happens I'll fangasm over it anyways.

btw don't really mind the fact that Kizaru (sorry, more used to using their 'titles')'s hangin' at the back and Aokiji's dominating the front page. teehee. I have a thing for blues and birds and ice (Marco is my one true love...other than Law), and Kizaru gives me the heebie jeebies.

I just pretty much hate Akainu's ass, but you've drawn him so awesomely here I can forgive myself for ogling just a little<bit>. :D

Yeah, I've never really liked water or ice-related powers, although blue is my favorite color and I think yellow is my least favorite.

At the same time, Borsalino can move at light speed and shoot laser beams and make a lightsaber.

Anyway, thanks. I wanted to go back and revise some of my old comics to update the writing and art. :P

I'm more of a wind-type person, actually, though water and ice have a special place in my heart.

Oh, trust me, I don't doubt the fact that his powers are downright badass. It's Kizaru himself that creeps me out. His powers make me admire-ish him, but HE--as in how he is as person--is creepy. The relationship we have is weird, I guess. You know how you can be in awe of what someone is capable of but be completely creeped out at the same time? :dummy: am I making sense? :cough:

No, no, keep it that way. Honestly it shows the growth and development you've had in regards to your drawing style (and writing, etc), which, for me is really important. You don't see Oda-san going back to edit his first OP chapters, do you?? :) (well. Mainly because he CAN'T anymore, but still.)

Yes, Kizaru is somewhat creepy. That's another reason I like him. I like the way he talks and behaves. It's eccentric, but not in an annoying way.

Well, I'm not going to actually go back and replace those comics. I'd just like to go back and try redrawing and rewriting them a little so I can compare them. That's a way of seeing how much you've grown and developed. And those old versions will still be there. :P

Haha, I don't find him annoying. He's an interesting character, you know, just keep him the hell away from me and we'll be fine. I can even love him from afar. Like, fifty yards away. He reminds me of a dirty old man. I KNOW, I'M SO BAD, BUT HE DOES, REALLY. IT's like, he has something especially naughty (both sexual and non-sexual) planned for someone, so when he was flirti FIGHTING with Marco, I was all, DON'TTOUCHHIMWITHYOURLASERSJDHFLWUKEHFLWKJEFHE :nuu:

Maybe I just have too much imagination. But that was what I thought. IDK.

Hey, yeah, that IS an idea. Like, "In Bad Taste Could've beens" or something. You could also post 'what if' topics you'd had--like for example in comic ##, you had actually planned to blahblahblah, but thought it wasn't funny so you scrapped the idea. IDK.

You can tell me when I'm spamming you too much with my attention-seekingness.

Sugar, spice, and everything nice
These were the ingredients chosen
To create the perfect little girls
But Professor Vegapunk accidentally
Added an extra ingredients to the concoction--
Chemical X
Thus, The Powerpuff Girls were born
Using their ultra-super powers
Akainu, kuzan, and borsalino
Have dedicated their lives to fighting crime
And the forces of evil

Great job, really it is! Its times like this where I wish I had a professional opinion and critque to offer you.

Now for something completely different: I've always preferred Kuzan, since he seems the most emotionally stable of the three Admirals. Sakazuki is too extremist for my tastes and while his actions as both a vice-admiral and admiral probably have had some good on the world of One Piece, he also is the one to order the destruction of the Ohara's citizen ship and he was the one who killed Ace simply because he was Roger's son. As for Borsalino, he definitely has a really awesome devil fruit power, but his constant mocking of just about any and all oppenents he comes across and utter lack of seriousness just really annoys me. He may be an extremely powerful Admiral, but that doesn't give him the right to treat anything and everything as a joke.

Yeah, with me it's the opposite. I like his constantly playful attitude because it's like he's the only admiral out there HAVING FUN. YAY. GONNA KILL SOME PIRATES TODAY WITH LASER BEAMS. HOOOOO.

I think I don't like Kuzan because, as you said, he appears to be the most emotionally stable and, to me, this causes him to not stand out as much among the group. I only like Sakazuki more because I like his logia and he's the sort of villain you really wanna see taken down. :P

At one time I couldn't tell if he was being playful or sociopathic. In that way, to me at least, he's one of the more creepy of One Piece villains. After seeing such villains like Crocodile, Enel, and Lucci, it was surprising just how much menace could be compacted into someone whose acting so laid back ALL THE TIME.

At least he should make a good Fleet Admiral, if he did get the position. He's the sort of guy who I trust to do his job (most of the time, when he's not being lazy), whether I'm a Marine on his side or a pirate he's facing. I could expect him to back me up as easily as I could expect him to freeze me alive and shatter my frozen body without a hint of mercy or a drop of pain. He's not all that LIKEABLE, but that's not an issue when it comes to men like him.

I must admit, I really, really, REALLY liked it when Whitebeard hit Sakazuki with a point-blank Gura Gura no Mi punch. It almost made me forget about him killing Ace. ALMOST.

They did a good job on that part in the anime. They expanded on Sakazuki's beating at Whitebeard's hands with pretty good quality.

Kuzan seems like he's the kind of guy who you're not sure if he's a good guy or a villain or what. In that sense, he may not be the sort of fleet admiral Sengoku would have wanted him to be. But on the other hand Sakazuki seems too callous. The way Borsalino carries himself it's a little too difficult to tell what he would do in such a position. But Kuzan definitely seems responsible, if anything. :P

I've yet to watch the anime version of the later parts of the Whitebeard War, so I can only imagine how their conflict went animated.

The only thing I'm afraid of is that the World Government would have decided to go with Sakazuki, since they might think his strict views on Justice are whats needed to motivate the Marines to rise to the occasion of the increases in piracy after Whitebeard's death. I can't imagine Boraslino doing a BAD job at it. Then again, I can't imagine him doing the job at all; he doesn't seem the sort to handle that position of power well.

Borsalino's motives are kind of ambiguous right now. It's difficult to tell how he'd handle a lot of things. I'm hoping that his history will be revealed sometime later on along with the other admirals.

Whitebeard kicking Akainu's ass was one of the best parts of that arc in the anime. It's too bad they're not starting the New World saga until October, but I guess they're pretty close to where the manga is. :P

That would be interesting, but much like the other villains of One Piece, we'll probably only get a few brief glimpses and hints in what influenced them to become the people they are today. The closest we've gotten to a full-blown villain's previous history is with Buggy the Clown, and that's kinda stretching the idea of a backsory (pun not intended).

Yeah, if they got too close then they'd be running the risk of the anime passing over the manga. And as far as I'm concerned, we don't need another unnecessary filler arc when we're so close to seeing the start of the New World saga. I can't wait to see the start of the Fishman Island Arc! I wonder who will be doing Princess Shirahoshi's voice?

I think the closest thing we got to a villain's history would be Arlong, since it was shown, in detail, his time with the sun pirates and his excursions with Jinbei and Tiger.

They're just padding a lot of the post-war stuff with tons of filler right now, to the point at which one episode covers less than a chapter of material or something. I mainly want to see what kind of opening they plan to do for the new arc, since it's the beginning of the second half of the story. I'd like it if they animated it in a way that's reminiscent of the first opening but inclusive of all the new crew mates. :P
